150 FULTON AVENUE
The Fulton Avenue Site is being addressed as two Operable Units. The first Operable Unit (OU1) addresses source and resultant groundwater contaminant plume; the second Operable Unit (OU2) addresses finding and mitgating sources of groundwater contamination observed during the OU1 investigation which was not related to the original source area. The OU1 site source is located at 150 Fulton Avenue, the former location of a cutting mill and dry cleaning facility. The property is about 0.8 acre and houses a 20,000 square foot building. There have been numerous previous owners and/or occupants of the building, some of which utilized a dry cleaning process in their production line. A groundwater plume of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), composed chiefly of the dry cleaning solvent tetrachlorethene (PCE), is emanating from the former dry well located at 150 Fulton Avenue and is migrating both horizontally and vertically. Public supply wells are currently impacted by this plume. Groundwater contamination which was observed during the OU1 Remedial Investigation that was not attributable to the OU1 source is being investigated as OU2. Site Responsibility: This site is being addressed through Federal, State and Potentially Responsible Party (PRP) actions
