The 30-acre site is located on Jackson Road, approximately six miles northwest of Hattiesburg in Lamar County, Mississippi. Areas of dirt, gravel and asphalt as well as grass and dense vegetation cover the site. Tree bark and wood chips cover a large portion of the site. A power line borders the site to the north, a recreational trail borders the site to the south, Jacksonville Road borders the site to the east, and a wetland and West Mineral Creek border the site to the west. From 1972 until the late 1980s, Davis Timber Company operated a timber processing and wood preserving facility at the site. Operations included discharging wastewater into an on-site storage pond. In 2000, EPA listed the site on the NPL. The site is not currently in use.
