pearl harbor naval complex

US NAVAL COMMAND

The Pearl Harbor Naval Complex (PHNC) encompasses approximately 12,600 acres of land and water. The PHNC is not a government entity but a geographic area. Pearl Harbor Naval Complex is an active military facility. The Harbor itself is an important component of this NPL site. The Harbor can be divided geographically into four lochs: West, Middle, South and South East. These lochs provide an estuarine environment bordered by wetlands and marsh habitat. Eight perennial and intermittent streams (Honouliuli, Aiea, Waikele, Waiawa, Waiau, Waimal, Kaalauao and Halawa) drain surface water from seven watersheds before discharging into the harbor.
